The residency provides a wide array of opportunities to ensure your professional development. Through active participation in educational opportunities both in community and academic settings, you will complete our residency program with the skills necessary to practice in a wide variety of clinical environments.
At the conclusion of the program, you will have the management and clinical skills necessary to operate a profitable pharmacy while providing financially sound patient care and disease management services. You will have engaged in a range of activities that develop leadership and teaching (both didactic and experiential) skills. This is achieved through numerous opportunities at the college, site and corporate level.
Midwestern University, Chicago College of Pharmacy
Located in Downers Grove, Illinois, was established in 1991. This private institution is located near Chicago in Downers Grove, Illinois. The university offers a Doctor of Pharmacy degree program that emphasizes pharmaceutical care and pharmacy communications. Students are required to complete two years of prerequisite courses at another accredited college or university prior to being admitted to Midwestern's professional pharmacy program.
University of Illinois at Chicago College of Pharmacy
Located in the Illinois Medical District in downtown Chicago, was founded in 1859 as a private institution. This makes it the third oldest college of pharmacy with a continuos charter. In 1896, the college of Pharmacy joined the University of Illinois system. In addition, numerous graduate programs are offered in various specialty fields. The College offers joint PharmD/Ph.D and PharmD/MBA degrees.
University of Minnesota College of Pharmacy
The College of Pharmacy, the only school of pharmacy in Minnesota, offers its program on the Twin Cities and Duluth campuses. Founded in 1892, the College of Pharmacy educates pharmacists and scientists and engages in research and practice to improve the health of the people of Minnesota and society. The college is part of the Academic Health Center, which is home to the University of Minnesota's six health professional schools and colleges as well as several health-related centers and institutes.
