Jewel-Osco pharmacists play a huge role in the community by providing MTM, immunizations, health screenings, and “Eating Healthy with Diabetes” tours and seminars. As a Jewel-Osco pharmacy intern, I was able to experience every one of these services and was even involved in the process. I gained invaluable experience throughout this internship. I would want every pharmacy student to be able to experience this internship.

Ghadeer Yassin, Intern - UIC
I have had the opportunity to work with the company since May 2001, which has been such a valuable and rewarding experience for me, especially during my last three years at pharmacy school. I have been able to implement the knowledge that I have learned at school and build upon that knowledge from the pharmacists that I work with. They have helped me improve my patient counseling skills, guided me on building my confidence as a future pharmacist, and let me know that they want to make sure that I am the best pharmacist that I can be when I graduate. I truly have seen the advantage I have had as a pharmacy student working for the company and look forward to having the opportunity to be with the company for a long time to come.

Liz Panek, Intern - Touro College of Pharmacy
My experience at Jewel-Osco gave me the confidence to be a leader; I am currently Vice President of my pharmacy class at Touro College of Pharmacy New York and am very involved in committees and service in my community. I hope to take this leadership role further in my pharmacist career, where I may work closely with my staff and patients. As a Certified Pharmacy Technician for over five years with Jewel-Osco, I have brought all of my work experience into the classroom, and it has strengthened me as a student. I am proud to be a Jewel-Osco pharmacy associate, and look forward to a long-lasting relationship with the company.

The Sav-On summer internship program was an incredibly valuable experience that I am so glad I had the opportunity to take advantage of! Not only did I learn important information about the most widely prescribed classes of drugs, but I also got the chance to thoroughly practice my counseling skills. Everything about this program - the content, the focus on learning, the preceptors, and my fellow interns - was amazing, and it was great professional learning experience that I highly recommend!

The summer intern program was an extremely valuable and fun experience. It allowed me to apply some of my classroom knowledge to a real world setting and also expanded my view of retail pharmacy. It was great to work with the other interns in my area and participate in group projects. Overall, it was a wonderful experience and I would do it again in a heartbeat!

Angela Scott, Intern - OSU College of Pharmacy
I had a great summer learning about different disease states, and putting together projects to present to the community and my peers. My preceptor taught me more than I could have expected, and I got to apply what I learned during the program and in school to work in the pharmacy. I also enjoyed seeing the business side of running a pharmacy--something that we're not taught in school. I have recommended this program to all of my classmates!

SUPERVALU is a great company and takes care of you. I enjoyed the Summer Internship program because I learned a lot and had fun. I feel like I have a good idea of what it's like to work in the retail setting.

The staff I work with is great and always helpful. Each summer I feel that I forget a lot of stuff I learn in school, but this summer I learned so much more with the internship program.
